1.2 Objectives
1) Engage young, creative individuals or groups to perform at our proposed event out of goodwill and a shared passion for dogs, to raise funds for Action for Singapore Dogs(ASD), a non-profit, non-governmental organization that rescues, fosters and re-homes stray and abandoned dogs, in hope that the funds will help improve the welfare of the stray and abandoned dogs in Singapore.
2) Raise public’s awareness of ASD and bring their attention to the rising number of abandoned dogs in Singapore. Lastly, to educated the public about responsible ownership and put forth the idea of an adoption as opposed to making a purchase through pet shops when they are ready for a lifetime commitment to a pet.
3) Encourage charity and donation as a form of way to give back what we’ve gain from the society in which we are living in.
1. 3 Target audience
Title: Play for Paws

2. Project Plan
i. Synopsis
Proposed one-day Charity Gig “Play for Paws” to be a youthful arts event filled with performances from bands of varying genres, disc jockeys, rappers, beat-boxers, hip hop dancers, and many more. Thus far, we have secured several enthusiastic performers’ interest for the proposed event.
During intervals between the performances, we propose using visuals to bring across ASD message to the audiences. We propose the event to be held during the school holidays, either at the end of November 2008 or early December 2008, tentative event date is 19th Dec 2008. The venue is tentative and will be further discussed. Funds for ASD will be generated from the profits gained through the ticket sales of the proposed event.
ii. Strategies to meet objectives
- Secured various genres of music, dance and performing arts group to perform out of goodwill to engage target audience
- Ticketing system to collect and raise funds, donation tins, souvenir booths and if possible a flea market rental stall system would be implemented alongside with the gig. Revenues will be donated to ASD
- Awareness talks and exhibition can happen as the event goes on so that the public will be able to read and attend talks that are conducted by professionals coherently.
- Pets may or may not be brought over, very much dependent on the friendliness of the pet for audience to engage and bond with the animal.
